Sioux Valley / Sanford Hospital

1305 W. 18th
This tale comes to us anonymously from a former Nurse Aid at Sioux Valley.
In the fall of 2000 I was working as a nurse aid (NA) on the Labor and Delivery unit at Sioux Valley Hospital. There is a small bathroom right off the main hallway. I was washing my hands in the sink and looked up into the mirror. Standing behind me was a young man in his late 20's or early 30's. He was tall and thin, had sandy brown hair, was wearing a green and cream flannel shirt, blue jeans with a belt buckle. I was very startled and the hair stood up on the back of my neck. I swung around quickly and there was no one there. I mentioned this to an older NA who had worked in this department for about 30 + years. She stated that other people had seen ghosts on this floor.

A couple of months later I was pushing a newborn baby to the NICU with another nurse and saw the same man that I saw in the bathroom. He was walking toward us (dressed the same as before) and passed between us. As we passed him I felt a cool breeze and the hair stood up on my neck and arms. The nurse mentioned that she all of a sudden felt chilled. I turned around to look behind us and no one was there. The hallway was completely empty.

This is definitely something that you don't forget. I sometimes wonder who he is, but will never know. . .
She says the nurse she walked down the hall with did not notice the young man walking by them, but other nurses had seen him.
